Our History
The Catonsville Lacrosse Club has a long and proud history rooted in community and youth development. Youth lacrosse in Catonsville began in 1969, when a group of local residents recognized the opportunity to introduce and grow the game within the community. The original goal was to create a structured youth program that would develop fundamental skills and support continued play at the high school level.
Over time, the program grew steadily, serving generations of young athletes and becoming an important part of the Catonsville community. In 1980, the organization formally became the Catonsville Lacrosse Club, reflecting its broader mission and expanding reach. The program continued to evolve, and in the 1990s, a girls’ lacrosse program was added, further strengthening the Club’s commitment to inclusion and access.
Today, the Catonsville Lacrosse Club serves more than 500 players each year with the support of over 100 adult volunteers. Through these programs, the organization remains focused on skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and fostering a lifelong love of the game.
The Catonsville Lacrosse Club continues to build on its strong foundation as a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing positive, development-focused lacrosse opportunities for youth in Catonsville and the surrounding areas.
